Bloody accident along Bauchi- Kano road leaves 12 killed

About 12 persons have been reportedly killed in an auto crash
– The accident is said to have taken place at the Bauchi-Kano road
– A collision between a Hilux and a tanker resulted in the deaths
A bloody crash along the Bauchi-Kano road has led to the death of about 12 persons. The incident took place on Thursday, June 30.
Witnesses report that 11 of the victims were operatives of a popular local security outfit, called Danga Security, heading back to Bauchi from Ningi, a town about 70km away.
The Commandant of the Danga Security Outfit in Bauchi, Yusuf Hassan, who was in another vehicle, behind the one involved in the crash, said the accident occurred at about 5pm at Kafin Liman Village, along Bauchi Ganjuwa road in Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi state.
“Nobody is expecting that to happen, we were returning from Ningi to Bauchi, I was in my car and the Hilux that had an accident was conveying my personnel. It was few kilometers ahead of us. It collided with a tanker that lost control and rammed into our Hilux killing all the 11 personnel on the spot, so also the driver of the tanker died.
“I have never seen death of this nature … the 11 personnel received Prayers of janaizza at Gwallaga Mosque Friday and were buried according to Islamic rites at the Bauchi central cemetery along Gombe road.”
Premium Times reports that spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi state, Rilwanu Sulaiman, confirmed the incident.
Sulaiman said the accident occurred at about 5pm, Thursday, following a head-on collision by a White Petroleum Tanker with registration number, GML-534-XA, heading towards Ningi and a White Toyota Hilux conveying Danga Vigilante group members, heading to Bauchi.
