Nigeria: Tears of Joy As El-Rufai Ends 40 Years of Zaria Water Scarcity

Many residents with tears of joy on their faces narrated how they were coping with the pathetic situation for decades. Governor Nasir El-Rufai's administration however wiped their sorrow with the commissioning of the 150 million litres per day water treatment plant of the Zaria Water Project. Until now, the ancient city Zaria and environs have been experiencing acute shortage of water supply for several decades. According to experts,one of the reasons for scarcity of potable water in Zaria Metropolis was due to inadequate capacity of existing Water treatment plants and storage reservoirs to meet the water demand of the expanding population, compounded by the old age and obsolescence of the transmission and distribution pipework. Observers revealed that,the water supply to the Zaria and its environs had been from two water works with a combined capacity of 60 million litres per day (mld). survivor policeman needs N3m for brain surgery •Attang Samson Folarin and Afeez Hanafi Nigerians have started donating to raise funds for the family of a late Nigerian policeman, Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko, who died after the robbery of a Zenith Bank branch on Wetheral Road, Owerri, Imo State. The cop lost his life after confronting a four-man gang in a gun battle, which was captured on a Closed Circuit Television camera. In the 2.58 minutes video, the victim could be seen firing at the robbers before running out of a security post. He was reported to have been injured during the incident and was admitted to a hospital where he died the following day. Although the incident happened in February, the video clip was not released to the public until June, when it went viral on the social media. Herdsmen’s activities tarnishing Buhari’s good image

The incessant bloody clashes involving herdsmen and land owners in parts of the country and the continuous destruction of farmlands by cattle belonging to these herdsmen are doing the Federal Government a lot more damage than good and also tarnishing the image of President Muhammadu Buhari, in spite of his efforts to take the country out of economic quagmire. This was the submission of Supreme Head of Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Prophet Solomon Adegboyega Alao, in a message issued in Lagos on Monday. Alao also said that the call on Igbo to leave the North by some elements in that region would only create unnecessary as the aftermath of any major crisis in the country now would lead to dire consequences. Alao, who urged total restraint from both the Igbo in the North.

IJMB PROGRAM ABOUT IJMB IJMB means Interim Joint Matriculation Board. It is an advanced level (A’Level) programme for Direct Entry (DE) admission to 200Level (year two) in any universities in Nigeria. The IJMB programme is in the same category with A’Level Cambridge, A’Level GCE London and the old Higher School Certificate (HSC) of the 1960s and ‘90s.
